I am extremely happy with this purchase and I haven't built a proper set for quite a long while and this set gave me the fun building and ultimately playing experience which I yearn for. It satisfy my hunger of combat and imaginary playing with the usage of aliens versus humans kind of scenario.

The Jet-Copter looks great from all angles, is extremely swooshable (you can even hold it by the pod, it's very secure) and was an entertaining build. The minicraft, despite their issues regarding leg room and boot size, look cool and the join-up mechanic is pleasantly daft. Overall, good stuff.

I've noticed that this is a pretty polarizing set; people either seem to love it or hate it. I fall on the 'love it' side, and if you fall on the hate it side I hope I may have convinced you otherwise.

When I buy legos, I don't just look at the model. The kit gets built once, and then the pieces migrate into the lego bins for use in future creations. Subsequently, I judge a lego set by both the quality and fun of the build, and the quality and quantity of the pieces included. Generally pieces should run under 10 cents each. We got this set for about 30 bucks keeping each part at about 8 cents. This set contains a great selection of parts which will go on to contribute to creative new builds. The plane model itself is wonderful (the two small alien ships are not that great). It's a great combination of themes. Right away we modified the tail and removed the "alien pod". It was a terrific hit with my son.I recommend this kit at a price below 40 bucks.

TLC has done a commendable job with the Alien Quest theme. This Jet-Copter Encounter set is a very reasonable price, offers lots of play value, and looks great on display.

I'd say this is a good buy if you're interested in the Alien Conquest theme. It's got ships from both sides, a good amount of play features, and for $40, it's not a bad deal. It has a nice selection of parts too for adding to your collection. With 2012 almost here, you can probably pick this set up on sale, and if you can, I recommend it.
