Stardust Benny! The Benny figure is fantastic. It's a shame he didn't get a collectible figure release, but this set is a perfect way to get hold of him - it's not too expensive and the other figures are great. Not sure why they bothered back-printing a figure who wears airtanks, but they have. He also has a double-printed head with an amazing party expression! Unikitty is largely as seen in the Party Bus, though again this is a cheaper way of getting this fabulous figure in elevated disco boots and multi-coloured tail. The scarf is a neat detail from the movie, though I would have preferred it with some sort of wire-like core so it keeps its shape - this loose one is prone to falling off. The alternate face is a joyous one too. This version of Metalbeard is hilarious and wonderful all at the same time, with instruments, records and speakers sticking out at odd angles. The only slight flaws I've found are that the legs don't end up EXACTLY the same length, and for me, the plume in the hat was a very loose fit. The other accessories are simple enough and have some useful parts, though I'm not sure if those are supposed to be drinks bottles, condiments, water-bottles or slushie-cups. They're certainly decorative enough. And did I mention you get STARDUST BENNY!?!
This LEGO Movie2 196 piece building set is a good accessory for any fan of the movie. The Systar Party Crew includes a posable one-man band figure that appears to be an homage to Salvador Dali--intensely convoluted and topped with a MetalBeard head. Included minifigures are Unikitty as DiscoKitty sporting a glamorous fabric boa along with Stardust Benny and his new star glasses. Accessories including a loud speaker and table with drinks add detail and interest to the set. As always, the pieces fit together well, not the case with some other brands, and the largely visual instruction book provides a useful guide. Designed for those 7 years of age and up, so younger builders or those with little experience may require assistance from older siblings or adults.
Countless fantastical characters populate The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part and 70848 Systar Party Crew excels in that regard, featuring exclusive versions of three notable heroes. Each variant differs dramatically from the standard designs, reflecting the garish Systar System environment, but these characters still capture the essential features of Benny, Unikitty and MetalBeard.
The Systar System is crazy place, which is nicely captured in this fun little set. I love the new colourful new version of MetalBeard, especially how the musical elements have been incorporated into his body. Disco Kitty is a fun versions but certainly not the best part of the set. That honour is bestowed upon delightful Stardust Benny.
