Fans will love seeing their favorite elements and characters from the video game brought to life in such an interactive way. This is more than just building out scenes from the game. The built-in technology really allows fans to play out what they've seen on screen, and it'll be really cool to see how LEGO Mario reacts and responds with each move.

Bought this kids who found it pretty straight forward to put together. Although the recommended age says 7+, I did find that even my 5 year old was more than capable of putting this set together The instructions (as from the little experience I have with the Lego Technic range) are very good, although at times not always clear, but with a little patience and common sense you can quickly work out where all the bits need to go. Once put together the model feels very sturdy and doesn't feel like it will break with even a hard knock. I really like the fact that Lego have gone the extra mile and created an app that you can download to your phone and view the instructions if you lose the set that comes in the box! Would still say it is a worthy purchase.
Of all the LEGO Super Mario Expansion sets, possibly my favourite one is the Piranha Plant Power Slide.
The concept of a Piranha Plant flanked seesaw, visually doesn't feel much like a Mario game. To be fair the seesaw motion doesn't either. However, the tricky notion of dodging these monstrous plants is very much an aspect of Mario gameplay. If you're looking for a set which has a fair few Mario icons, then this has that covered. You can't get much more Mario than a Goomba, Koopa Troopa and a pair of Piranhas Plants.
Unlike the expansion packs I've tried so far, this one requires a high degree of dexterity. The more you practice the better you'll get, and the more coins you'll receive. It's likely that you'll want to spend the whole of your allotted time on the slide, although it's less lucrative once you've hit a plant so it could be better to move on to something else if you do so. I think I've just had the most fun playing with a LEGO set since I was a kid!
With the skill and patience that 71365 Piranha Plant Power Slide Expansion Set requires, those looking to expand their LEGO Super Mario level should definitely pick it up – as long as the price is not too off putting.
The Pirhana Plant Power Slide expansion pack provides a great additional challenge to LEGO Super Mario. I would recommend it, if you are looking for a technical challenge, as a way to catch extra coins. It adds great functionality to a level, with 2 additional enemies for Mario to defeat, and the additional Extra Time Powerup Box gives you an extra 30 seconds of Game Play. This expansion pack provides a reaonsable challenge in its own right, providing a very LEGO approach to the gaming platform.
