This is a pretty cool, unique lego set. My two boy's, who are ten and five years old, absolutely LOVE Lego's. And they have really enjoyed this "Battle Dragon" set. It let's their imagination goes crazy and they have hours of fun playing as ninja's! This was easy to build. My boys and I always sit and build their Lego sets together. They love building legos and love seeing their creation come to life. I have to say that me and my lego loving boys definitely approve of this Lego set!! You can't go wrong with this either. It would be great for any Lego fan and any fan of Ninjago.
All in all this was a fun little set. I have some minor quibbles about the dragon, but those are really just the compromises of making the model at this scale. There is a lot of play value here and imaginative stories flow nicely from these models.
Overall, this is a very solid set. Ninjago enthusiasts will want it for the Hero Wu figure, and as a cost-effective way to get a bad buy and the Ivory Blade. Fantasy fans will love the dragon, and the purple goblin will appeal to army builders. Part-seekers will be happy with lots of fiddly detail bits and useful connection elements. And at only an expected $20 price point, it feels like a good value for any of those viewpoints. Personally, I like it enough to already be eyeing a second copy at full retail.
This model appears exceptionally elegant and incorporates fantastic articulation, taking full advantage of its comparatively lightweight design. My only significant issue with this model relates to its wings, which appear rudimentary beside the detailed body. I think brick-built wings would have been more appropriate in this context as they could have been fairly small.
