This is a nice set, its main value are the minifigures though.

This is a tough one. What you get in the set is great: four incredible minifigures which are perfect for army building, four different kinds of weapons, and a neat speeder. The only thing that keeps it from being a great battle pack is the high price and the building experience (or the lack thereof).

My 6 yr old grandson enjoys Lego Star Wars but had not assembled any by himself. as a starter set I purchased this because it does not have an extraordinary number of pieces (91) and targeted his age group. It didn't take him long to construct the troopers and space craft and begin to play with them. I purchased the Death Star Trooper (100 pieces) and will gradually work up to more sophisticated sets should these continue to hold his interest. It was rewarding to observe him engineer the legos and problem-solve. A creative form of entertainment and sense of accomplishment for a child.

I feel the minifigures are very nice but the model itself is a bit small and uninteresting. The price is therefore not very good, though it is helped by the really nice detailing on the minifigures.

It's a battle-pack, so there's not much to expect outside of the figures. The Sith Figures are fantastic and the Republic Troopers are 80% fantastic. But unless you're looking to fill out some unique troopers or really like The Old Republic (and their play numbers would lead me to believe no one is in that category), this set has limited value.
