This build looks great and has so much playability. It fits up to 12 figures in the main deck as well as the 2 to operate the shuttle. I personally have two and will consider buying a third. The build is easy to do, but still takes a bit of time and ends up looking great as there is little exposed studs on the outside besides the top. The minifigures look great as well, and the flame trooper is one of the coolest storm troopers ever. The only thing wrong with the set is that it lacks a pilot for the transport, but that's easy enough to fix with the first order Battlepack. I highly recommend this set. It is worth every penny.
My 5 year old Grandson was SO Happy to receive this toy that he actually broke down sobbing . I gave it to him for an early Valentines day gift. Can't get much better than that. !
Before getting this set I was fixated that I will be getting this set so that I can get Captain Phasma. Then, I realise that Captain Phasma is just the icing on top after I finished building the set. The build is very enjoyable. AAL is also a very recognisable vehicle that appeared in many Star Wars media, including video games, animated shorts, and comics.
I think this set is a nice set. The build is good, the playability is decent and the figures are great. However, I think the price is a little hard to stomach.
Honestly, this is one of those “not nearly as bad as first thought” type of builds. There are certainly some issues, and the ship itself is pretty ridiculous, but this is also a fictional universe that gave us Wookiee Catamarans that took on tanks and walkers that invade at about 5 km/h… so how do you really judge ridiculous?
I am very happy with this set. It isn't perfect, but from the little we have seen of it, it seems accurate enough for a kid's toy, and the minifigure selection is great. 4 Troops, Phasma, and 2 resistance fighters who won't stand a chance. No complaints from me.
I think these troop transport sets are often some of the most enjoyable to play with, but few sets are packed with as many play features as this one. Between the moving ramp, firing missiles, pop-up turret, rolling wheels and adjustable flaps it would be difficult to fit any more fun in this set! The level of detail is also excellent on both the exterior and interior, although it is a shame that some space has been wasted beneath the cockpit.
