5 bricks for this lego from me. It has everything I want my legos to have: active guns and missiles, a good size, and lots of characters [mainly Stormtroopers]. Everything it can do is easy to do, such as firing guns and opening the front so the Stormtroopers can get out. What I really like is the way you're able to play with the Stormtroopers inside and out thanks to the detachable roof in the front. The vehicle has wheels so it can move, and it can maneuver better than it looks. It's also a good way to pass the time!
My 5 year old Grandson was SO Happy to receive this toy that he actually broke down sobbing . I gave it to him for an early Valentines day gift. Can't get much better than that. !
Before getting this set I was fixated that I will be getting this set so that I can get Captain Phasma. Then, I realise that Captain Phasma is just the icing on top after I finished building the set. The build is very enjoyable. AAL is also a very recognisable vehicle that appeared in many Star Wars media, including video games, animated shorts, and comics.
I think this set is a nice set. The build is good, the playability is decent and the figures are great. However, I think the price is a little hard to stomach.
Honestly, this is one of those “not nearly as bad as first thought” type of builds. There are certainly some issues, and the ship itself is pretty ridiculous, but this is also a fictional universe that gave us Wookiee Catamarans that took on tanks and walkers that invade at about 5 km/h… so how do you really judge ridiculous?
I am very happy with this set. It isn't perfect, but from the little we have seen of it, it seems accurate enough for a kid's toy, and the minifigure selection is great. 4 Troops, Phasma, and 2 resistance fighters who won't stand a chance. No complaints from me.
I think these troop transport sets are often some of the most enjoyable to play with, but few sets are packed with as many play features as this one. Between the moving ramp, firing missiles, pop-up turret, rolling wheels and adjustable flaps it would be difficult to fit any more fun in this set! The level of detail is also excellent on both the exterior and interior, although it is a shame that some space has been wasted beneath the cockpit.
