Some Lego kits don't do a good job capturing the look and feel of a character, but this one does it well. It's a good size without being overbearing, sturdy enough to stand without tipping over every time you just look at it. Build was easy, a good way to kill some time in an evening. If you have a fan of Rogue One, it's a fun kit.
Not counting the Bionicles, there are still a decent number of constraction figures around – almost 50 since 2012, with some interesting inclusions such as Batman, Hulk, a heavily armoured Captain America, a few Chima varieties, and plenty of Star Wars ones. If you were to collect all of them, it would be quite a display. So far, however, there's only been two robots, both from Star Wars. K-2SO, and 75112: General Grievous. Constraction figures are very much a niche market. They won't be for everyone, but that's ok. I'm glad I've got one, because I'm having endless fun positioning him around the house!
Tallest of the star wars buildable figures, also no weapon and possibly not the most pose-able figure but he is a robot! Could be a bit sturdier but stands ok without much of a problem. Interesting mechanism for moving his arms in a sideways sort of punch. A welcome addition from Rouge One and hopefully some more will turn up.
A good set, perhaps not the best in class, however I am limited in constraction experience. I enjoyed putting it together, but the real joy for me comes from using him as a photographic model.
Fans of the new Star Wars Rogue One movie are really going to like bringing this droid character to life through LEGO building and play. This durable action figure will let kids recreate favorite scenes from the movie or imagine all-new battle scenes as they pretend to defeat the Galactic Empire. But the action figure, which stands on its own, also looks very cool on display. This will be something that Star Wars and LEGO fans will really enjoy building and playing with, and older fans will also like keeping it out on display as part of their Star Wars toy collections.
Of the three Rogue One buildable figures, I think K-2SO is my favorite. He matches what we've seen from Rogue One pretty well and definitely captures that robotic look. There's lots of nice pieces, as long as you like to work in black, with a bunch of recolors and some nice new elements. The set is a little expensive at $25, but that's pretty par for the course when it comes to Star Wars constraction, so there's not much that can be done about it. If you're only going to pick up one Rogue One set, this would be my recommendation.
