Great addition to the Ghost Crew line of Legos. Really cool they added Thrawn to the set as well, but I'd love to see his ship added to the line too.
This is a much Needed set For the Rebels Story. But Why have this one Being the Only star wars rebels season three set so far? Thrawn is mislabelled on the package, and again mislabelled in the Product description. The detail for the rank plaque is horribly inaccurate. There is also a plethora of other sets that thrawn could be in, like his office that comes with Thrawn, a sentry droid, a chimeara stormtrooper with the black shoulder marker. I really hope in the future that lego doesn't just add in a loved character for product sales, but considers where it would be right,or wrong, to add that said Character.
All in all, this set is great, with a fantastic build and fun play features. But there is one fatal flaw. The price! $29.99 in the U.S. is reasonable to me, but £39.99 and $69.99 NZD is unacceptable. The size of the final build is way too small.
The shortcomings of this set are in no way the fault of the designer, it truly is the source material. LEGO very cleverly inserted an incredibly desirable minifigure into this otherwise boring set and his weight alone will be enough to draw most fans into purchasing it. If one already owns 75033 The Ghost, the value of this set rises dramatically. I would therefore recommend this offering to enthusiastic Star Wars fans, especially those of the Zahn books, but otherwise this set is one to pass on.
This shuttle is supposed to represent an old Separatist shuttle from the days of the Clone Wars. LEGO made a set for one of these shuttles before, which is more accurately scaled. I believe it's implied that they intentionally squished the shuttle down, because it does in fact connect in with the Ghost set. Pretty cool! I think the price might have been a little high, unless they added another figure.
The extraordinary popularity of Grand Admiral Thrawn will draw many people to this set and it does not disappoint, despite a smattering of minor issues. The minifigures are excellent and the Phantom II is also quite impressive on the whole as the curved hull panels and dorsal fin are formed using some interesting building techniques. Moreover, the number of functions packed into the craft is very satisfying and I am glad that you can fit some extra minifigures in the cargo bay if you wish, although it is really designed to hold a munitions crate.
Even if you can't get your Thrawn minifig signed by Timothy Zahn, this is still a cool little set that we can heartily recommend.
