i watched reviews on youtube of people who got this set early for whatever reason and most of them didnt sound very excited for this set. i personally love the original trilogy, as most do, and bought this set. this is a very very cool set, and maybe even a little underrated. $100 is a lot of money to spend but i think for this set its worth it. it looks so cool on shelf
These Star Wars sets have lots of space for kids and adults to recreate favorite scenes from the movies. Fans will love all the details in these sets that make them great for play as well as display.
The numerous similarities between 75291 Death Star Final Duel and 75093 Death Star Final Duel have definitely affected the reaction to this set. I believe there was potential to introduce additional improvements but that should not overshadow the excellent design. In fact, this set reminds me of 75159 Death Star because both models are exceptionally similar to earlier sets, potentially distracting from their impressive quality.
The “licensed set premium" is fairly high on this set, with only 775 pieces and two truly outstanding minifigs for a $100 price point. Nevertheless, I'm genuinely impressed with the finished model and its fun play features. The enhanced Darth Vader with new arm printing plus a fully redesigned Emperor Palpatine give LEGO Star Wars minifigure collectors a great reason to pick up this set as well.
The minifigure line-up could have offered more for wider LEGO Star Wars collectors and is disappointing, but there's little else to fault 75291 Death Star Final Duel for. As a playset it offers a valid upgrade on an older version of itself and succeeds in striking a great balance between play and display. There's a lot of fun to be had in fiddling with this set, whatever your age, and more than enough to put its five-year-old sister set to shame. More colour, more action, more to look at and more to do – if only it offered a more complete minifigure line-up, 75291 Death Star Final Duel would be one of the very best LEGO Star Wars sets of recent years.
