While I'm not the biggest fan of Minions, this set was a very satisfying and fun build. The minions figures are cleverly designed with accurate new pieces, as well as having printed 1x1 circular pieces for eyes. Probably the best part of this set is Gru. I love Gru as a character in the first two films and always wanted a minifigure of him. While this is his younger self, and he lacks his iconic nose, what stands out as him is the exclusive torso print. The bike itself looks odd, but does look pretty good with useful pieces, and a cute minion rocket car build attached to it. Overall, a fun set with great figures and wacky vehicle.

It's a fun-looking bike with a nice profile, achieved with a minimum of elements – the entire set only has 136.

Recommendation: no by CapnRex101

The motorcycle is rather disappointing though. Certain compromises are inevitable to improve play value but this model scarcely resembles the onscreen vehicle and the Technic parts along either side look dreadful. Moreover, the price of £17.99 or $19.99 seems expensive and I would therefore recommend focusing upon other Minions: The Rise of Gru sets above this example.
