You get an iconic set with the two main minifigs for the line, a great representation of another character. It's a bit small, but it's good both as a toy (pull-back car) and as Toy Story. It's a solid, if simple, set, and a worth addition to any collection. It's not a strong set for parting out, but to build what it comes with, you'd be hard pressed to do better.
I purchased this set for my young son at age 7. OMGoodness! It is so neat. The buggy looks exactly like the one on Toy Story and when you pull backwards a few inches and let go it Races Away! It works just as good on carpet, there is a lot of force in the propulsion forward. It also has Woody and Buzz LightYear- right on! Unfortunately, over the years many buggy pieces have been lost and I am seriously thinking about getting a new one, build it and then carefully glue the non-moving parts because it was just that much fun! Of the thousand dollars I have invested in Legos this is my personal favorite set. Again it is MY personal favorite; I am 47 and love cartoons. So a deciding factor when choosing to buy would be how much the child loves Toy Story to begin with. If they are a big fan you cannot go wrong with this set! It is worth the $$! Happy Holidays! Peace
Overall, I say this set is well worth the money. At $19.99 USD, it's not super expensive, but you get three classic Toy Story characters with it, and they look so much like their movie counterparts that it's hard to say no to this set if you're a fan of the movie. Additionally, RC offers plenty of racing playability. Of all the Toy Story sets that came out this winter, I would suggest picking this one up first and foremost.
I really like this set. I loved the movie and this set is a definite keeper. The pieces and build are simple, but when built R/C is a really nice looking model. His pull back feature is a definite plus. The colors look great, the eyes are what does it for me. The 2 minifigs are the definate reason to get this set.
