The containment unit is a large playset with at least one feature on each side. The tallest section includes the control room, observation deck, and helipad with a helicopter. The crane wall has a glassed-in observation room, and crane for delivering food to the Indominus. The front wall features giant, interlocking doors that open and close. The final side has a breakway wall because we all know this cage is not going to hold back Indominus. When Indominus does break out, the humans can launch off in the orb vehicle.

This Lego set was purchased for my 6 year old son to help keep him occupied while we are still getting the hang of having a newborn at home. My son was able to follow the directions very easily, unlike some other Lego sets he has had. He didn't require any assistance. It did take him 2 days to put it together but he was so proud he did it by himself. This is his third big Lego set and the first one that he did by himself. He loves dinosaurs so this was naturally a hit. It is built to lego standards so it is great quality like always.

I have really enjoyed the Jurassic World theme. It continues to deliver solid sets, and waiting for a sale makes them a pretty good value overall. This set is a little small for the Indominus rex, but it can be fairly easily expanded due to its clever design. The helicopter and landing pad should have been left out so that more detail could be put in other areas. I also feel the Vet Minifigure should have been replaced with someone else. But, the design of this set is really nice, especially front gates. The Indominus rex is also great. I do recommend this set.

Let me start of by saying that you will never be able to experience a Lego set just by reading a review, but reviews can help you make a choice. The Indominus Rex Breakout is the most expensive set of the Jurassic World wave and is the only set with the Indominus Rex. The base itself has great detail on all sides. It has the main gate on the front, the viewing area and crane on the left, the lab in the back, and the breakout area on the right. overall great detail on all sides and as far as special accessories go, their is the amber with mosquito printed on it, and plenty of guns and tasers and a science flask. The minifigures are great but for 130 dollars I would prefer maybe one more. The Indominus Rex is super cool dinosaur but when it is worn out because of play, the tail gets nocked of if hit against something hard or with great force. Overall great set and well worth the money because even if it is small, you can pull the walls of from the joint pieces to make it really wide.

There's a lot of fun to be had here and even if you're like me and you don't quite like the albino-looking Indominus Rex, you can always swap her out for some of the other dinosaurs who would happily stomp around the compound.

I just don't feel the value. There's only 4 minifigs included and had it included another version of Owen, that may have increased its appeal but one hundred and thirty bucks is a lot of cash to put out for a white dinosaur and an undersized play pen. You're better off trying to get Indominus rex by itself from Bricks and Pieces or even Bricklink.

I found building this set to be enjoyable and relaxing – if you're looking for a substantial challenge then this probably isn't the set for you. There are a number of repeating design elements, for instance the SNOT wall panels, but the various sections making up the compound are sufficiently different to ensure that the build never became boring. I wasn't sure whether I'd like the dark bley, blue and white colour scheme, but in the event I think it works okay.
