Superb LEGO set, what's better than a giant robot with a LEGO guy inside? Awesome! Only downside is that the legs don't bend at the knees...there is a giant plastic rod in each leg providing support. I suspect that the "2.0 edition" will fix this as that is pretty much the only negative on the set. Hope LEGO expands their line to include a Robotech series of toys as the STEM educational initiatives are really integrating play with hands-on building.
While I do like the set, I feel like it has some issues. My figure has trouble standing straight and it leans forward. Also, I wish there would be more articulation in the legs and I think the fingers should be able to make a closed fist. Finally, I find it odd that the Iron Man minifigure didn't come with a normal Tony Stark head.
Despite the bad aspect of the Hulkbuster, I still feel that this is a good buy before it retires. As I mentioned above, there are lots of room to make it a better version of Hulkbuster, so this set can become an official collection, or you can modify it to become a bulkier, more flexible version of a LEGO mech.
There was so much potential with this set, it just fell a little short of the mark. I still look at it and am impressed at it's size – it could just have been bigger and better.
I have mixed feelings about 76105 The Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition. The level of detail is impressive and there are certain areas of the model which look perfect when compared with the source material. I love the glow-in-the-dark parts too but the Hulkbuster's proportions could probably be improved, especially around the upper arms which seem rather narrow.
Overall, this is not a perfect rendition of the Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition for display, and neither is it a set full of play features. I think by trying to do a ‘little bit of both' the set suffers by doing neither very well, especially for the price. The positives are that it is a lovely Dark Red parts pack for someone who wants to modify the shaping and joints to make their own, more accurate Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition, and the display base is very sturdy and functional. The negatives are his lack of mobility below the waist and the inaccuracy of the figure as a display item that is scaled to be big and beautiful on your shelf.
