What is there not to like about the 1989 Batmobile? Nothing much. However, if I go looking for problems, a price drop of $30-$40 would have made the value perfect. Additionally, side printing, or a couple of accessories more for the Minifigures would have boosted their design. However, these are all minute concerns compared to the majesty of this build. I am so impressed with how well LEGO® designers have recreated my favorite Batmobile. Do I recommend this set? Very enthusiastically yes.
Great set probably one of the best sets we've seen for a while! Firstly the box is highly detailed and features a matte black finish with a glossy print of the batmobile and the original logo of the batman series. The bags are nicely numbered and some come in another box. It was a fun set to build and taking your time was the best way to go, just so you could see the technic elements featured in this set. Once finished I realised that taking my time was well worth it, it's AMAZING!!!! You don't realise how big it really is, very deceiving. Great price for piece aswell over 3000!!! It's now in my room looking amazing, I would recommend a case of some sort as can collect dust.
Detail on the piece is stunning, and one feature of particular interest is the way the sliding door for the vehicle is faithfully recreated with incredibly subtle LEGO piecing.
All in all this is a seriously excellent set. It's massive, has a great display stand and the attention to detail in the shaping is wonderful. It's not cheap, but for the fans of the franchise – this is a must buy. There are some excellent minifigures included and it's a display piece that will capture the eyes of many.
So was this set worth the hype? Yes it is. There are some truly wonderful techniques and design choices throughtout. This is perhaps the most famous of all the Batmobiles, it captures everything that Batman is about, his mystery, menace, and ingenuity, and LEGO have put all that into this model and executed it do a level unequalled in any other LEGO Batmobile design. All of my criticisms really aren't that bad when looking at the set as a whole.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of Tim Burton's iconic Batman movie and The LEGO Group have announced 76139 1989 Batmobile, built from over 3,300 pieces, measuring over 60cm long and sitting on a rotating display plate. It includes two one-of-a-kind LEGO® elements designed specifically for this set, to get a close representation to the original movie.
Considerable interest surrounds every Batmobile design and the rendition from Tim Burton's Batman movie is probably among the most famous examples. 76139 1989 Batmobile has accordingly elicited significant attention and this is an extraordinary set, capturing the crucial combination of menace and elegance which distinguishes this celebrated Batmobile from various alternative examples.
True to its reference material, fun to build and awesome to look at once complete, 76139 1989 Batmobile is everything Batman fans would hope for, LEGO fans can appreciate and LEGO Batman fans will eagerly await building. This isn't a set to be missed.
“Where does he get those wonderful toys?“, asked the Joker. Now, it's clear that toys like this one can only be supplied from a factory in Denmark. LEGO 76139 1989 Batmobile is such an outstanding collectible, I can't see how this choice can be disappointing. I'm not the biggest fan of Batman, but the set makes such an enjoyable build and an excellent display item, I simply can't recommend it enough.
