Compact Marvel Avengers Iron Man 148 piece building set that includes an Iron Man mini figure. As expected the pieces fit together well and their usual instructions are clear to follow. If interested, there is the option to scan the QR code on the front of the booklet which goes to the app store and the Lego Building Instructions app for a digital alternative of the instructions. The final figure has articulated arms and legs, a weapon that shoots and a sheet of stickers which may be used to accent the figure. Designed for builders aged 6 and up, a fun project with excellent visual impact.
Saw this bought on impulse. took about an hour to build while watching TV. Easy build, some fun new combinations I have not used in smaller figurines. Used him to round out my iron man display. For playability his working shoulder gun is fun, and the articulation of the joints is well done.
Overall I really like this set. Sitting alongside the pocket-money sets like the LEGO Star Wars Microfighters, these are designed to be impulse buys, providing consumers with short yet satisfying bursts of LEGO building for a quick fix.
LEGO has produced several models of the Hulkbuster armour and they have proven fantastic, hence my high expectations for the generic 76140 Iron Man Mech. Thankfully, the mech does not disappoint. Its colour scheme of red, dark red and pearl gold looks perfect and I think the proportions of the model are appropriate for Iron Man, conveying reasonable strength but avoiding excessive bulk.
