This is one of the most over-the-top vehicles LEGO has produced at this price point. On the one hand, it is fun to see the design be so extreme for the sake of being extreme. On the other hand, the added complexity does not offer much in terms of additional play features. For Build: There are some interesting and surprising aspects to the build. While nothing revolutionary, the methods do feel like a departure from some of the more conventional offerings LEGO has. In Play: The most satisfying part is the rotating set of clouds at the back that rotate as the car moves and add visual excitement. Otherwise, the car doesn't offer much else, and the side builds are very simple little vehicles. On Display: the complex motor block and side intakes make a definite impact when viewing the vehicle. The car is quite large and looks pleasant on display but is not particularly dynamic. The most interesting components are certainly the demon figures, as they are quite unique and have a stellar complimentary color scheme to each other. TLDR: A perhaps too Over-the-top roadster with fantastic villain figures and vehicle complexity but not much else.
Overall, I really liked this set. Though the price per piece is a bit steeper than I would have liked at nearly 11¢ per piece, there is still a lot of value in the set, especially with all of the rare and unique elements.
For children, 80015 Monkie Kid's Cloud Roadster offers an enjoyable and not too difficult build process and a cool looking vehicle with some play features, complete with the “conflict in a box" setup. For AFOLs, this set offers a simple build process, a design that would look fantastic when displayed as well as a large selection of exclusive, rare and useful parts for MOCing. There's something here for everyone, and while the build could have been a little more complex and interesting in some parts and the missile pod would be better if it could retract into the chassis, these minor criticisms do little to detract from the overall experience.
