You probably buy this impulse set, only for one primary reason, is to gather more Manta Warriors inside your collection. The rest of the parts are not very useful either. The new minifigure mould is likely the reason why the cost is high and less piece count, unlike any other impulse sets. Then again, the trident is a very nice aquatic weapon, and its a cheaper method to buy these at one go, without buying the larger sets.
So over all I like the two sets and I think that the Manta might be worth the extra 10pcs. But it's not as fun to build then the Sea Jet. I think over all that I like the new Atlantis sets in general.
So pretty much this comes down to whether or not you think it's worth the $3.50 price tag. I think it is, as it contains a minifigure that's only available in this set and two other sets (or three, counting the summer wave). It's definitely affordable for most people, and is something that you can just throw into a purchase without driving the price up too much. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants more strange figures, rocks, and/or tridents.
