At first I was like "lego surfers? gnarly!" then I was like, "wait, a hula girl, some chicken drumsticks, bananas, and that parrot I used to have when I was a kid that I got from a pirate set? RIGHTEOUS!" Once I got it, and built the little grill, the luau started and never stopped. That was weeks ago. Everyday I'm just as stoked about this set as I was when I decided to live my pro surfer dream vicariously through tiny plastic people. This would be a great gift for your little Betty or Barney. Share some plastic, cubist aloha.

Recommendation: no 30 / 50 by Flipz

Overall, despite my complaints and the lackluster nature of the build side of the set, I feel this one was worth the price of admission. Surfer Dude is amazing as always, the grill is clever, the other two minifigs are quite decent, and if nothing else the rest is spare parts and/or filer for other builds. Pick one up next time you stop by the LEGO Store!
