This is a nice small LEGO Harry Potter set. You get Harry Potter (with dual faces... one is normal while the other is scared), you get a white owl with a cage, you get a scroll/document with wizarding-type information, and you get a black suitcase. This is a polybag, so these are always on the smaller side. This particular polybag comes with 40 LEGO bricks. There's a good variety of LEGO bricks for a small set of this size... and since it's Harry Potter, you really can't go wrong. PLEASE NOTE: The retail price for this polybag is $3.99, so I would recommend doing your homework and checking around before paying a price higher than MSRP. Thank you for reading and here's hoping you found my review helpful. Happy bricking!
Harry Potter is back in the brick, and if this polybag is any indication, the theme will offer a very appealing way to connect with the Wizarding World. For those who plan to collect the theme, or those who want to enjoy a smidgen of it, pick up this polybag when it is made available.
Harry's journey to Hogwarts, is an iconic moment in the books and movies. This could quite easily have been inlcuded in the Hogwarts Express set, but I like that it's another polybag. It's designer Justin Ramsden, of The Secret World of LEGO fame, has done a great job of updating the set from 2011, using new parts to great effect. The new Harry Potter minifigure, is definitely a better take on the character, compared to those from past sets, although the incorrect outfit seems a little odd. The trolley may seem a little basic and it is, but what can you really do to create a small trolley. The birdcage however is amazing, not only does it look great, it's really fun to build.
I have been looking forward to the upcoming Wizarding World sets very much indeed and this polybag further whets my appetite for the theme! The Harry Potter minifigure looks better than ever before, due primarily to the detailed hair piece and his brand new wand. I like Hedwig's cage too and the luggage trolley is perfectly adequate, although it would have been even better with rolling wheels.
All in all, I think this polybag is not bad. The builds are whatever but the inclusion of Harry and Hedwig in this small polybag is pretty nice. This is a cute little flavor of the Harry Potter theme without having to buy a bigger set, though it just might leave you wanting more.
