I'm a big fan of the 3 in 1 brand. For me, it's all about getting the biggest bang out of my buck. Built the parrot, fly and frog first then moved on to the fish. I love having multiple options, it was fairly easy to assemble, the bright colors make each piece immediately recognizable. Great for a new builder that wants a fun challenge.
As with all LEGO sets, kids can build anything they'd like but the LEGO Creator three-in-one sets provide the ideas and bricks for at least three different structures. This Rainforest Animals set allows kids to build five animals and then engage in imaginative play. Interactive and detailed features like the moving feet and mouth on the frog add to the fun.
This is a solid set, not a must have, but a set that shows what a creative, smart toy Lego can be, away from licenses and flick fire missiles. I would recommend this as a present for any young person. [...] My personal favourite build was the chameleon, and my daughter liked it too, using it as a dragon to fight with Mario, until she smashed it into oblivion. It unlocked her imagination, and that's what this stuff is all about, right?
The value for money here is pretty good. It's cheap per element, currently at around .10c new, and this is increasing in it's used value. It's increased in value over the last month, and will be interesting to see where this goes in a few month's time. As far as being part of a collection, it's the only pooping bird that LEGO has done, and it's part of the highly sought after brick built animals collection, so it's definitely worth getting.
Last year's main Creator animal set, 31031 Rainforest Animals, featured a parrot as its main build. It was, in my opinion, was one of the best sets of the year. The bird has a hilarious defecation mechanism, the likes of which hasn't been seen before or since!
But it is without a doubt the parrot that's the star of this third building round. It is robust, recognisable and makes great use of modified plates to create visual volume in the wings and tail, as well as a special function: the parrot can be fed biscuits (or are those seeds?) which will be “deposited" when the parrot lifts its tail…
I'm a big fan of Creator sets, particularly animals, and this set did not disappoint. At £12.99 and $14.99, it's good value: there's no Hollywood tax to pay and no minifigs to bloat the price. It's everything a LEGO set should be: a great selection of colourful reusable pieces, good looking models and, thanks to the parrot, great fun to play with.
This is an awesome set, lots of character, nice brick selection and great value. A small number of new elements perhaps but some notable ones. Unlike the parrot, buying this set will leave you with a very small bill.
This is a nice little set. Funny, colorful, fun to build and full of personality. I haven't built the other Animals set but from the pictures it looks like they're not as successuful as these one in capturing the "organical" appearance of the animals.
