Great for displays or playing like any good minifigure. Though it does not come with any accessories, a blaster is easy to make and adds to the “DJ" character.
DJ isn't a major character in Star Wars: The Last Jedi but does play an important part in the plot and it is interesting for LEGO to create a whole polybag just for him. He is exclusive to his set so he is a fairly rare minifigure at this point. Even though it's a simple mechanic, I'm still liking this whole connective base for all the minifigures in this series.
Astromech droids and specialised troopers are undoubtedly collectable but important characters from the movies, particularly those who do not appear in other sets, are perhaps even more appealing. I am therefore very satisfied with 40298 DJ. The figure looks superb in relation to the source material and includes impressive printed detail, although an alternative expression would have been a welcome addition.
