Just like the BB-8 Brick Sketches, this is another innovative and fun Lego set that appeals to a broader audience without a heavy price tag. Ahh price tag, yes the set is a little steep for my liking but I have to admit, its better than most of the other Star Wars wave releases for this year. Looks great on display in the book shelf and would recommend to anyone from a beginner builder unsure of what they want to get into to the most experienced MOC builder.
Overall, a fun little release from LEGO that won't break the bank, but will serve you well if you want to scratch that building itch, and are the kind of person to proudly display your LEGO collection to people.
I started out pretty iffy on these sets. After building them and looking though the parts, however, I can say I'm now a fan. The builds are quick, but fun. The finished models are great.
I've always admired the designs Chris used to share on social media. So I'm delighted they are now available as an official LEGO product. They offer a unique build experience as you are layering elements instead of building 3D structures or vehicles. The result is a fun looking display piece, that would look great hanging on the wall or sitting on a desk.
Brick Sketches open up a whole new way to display LEGO, hanging on the wall, and they look great in my office at Brickset Towers. Now we know the price, I think $20 is a little on the high side for what they are. Although not marketed as 18+ adult sets they are likely to be of interest mainly to AFOLs given that price point and lack of playability.
