I customized a Lego doll of Emma from the Wiggles, so I wanted more bows. I had a Friends Emma mini doll, too. I called her Sage, after her role in a therapy narrative (Wise 19--little voices in my head are me at different ages). Dad (also a Lego fan) asked, "Where's Parsley, Rosemary and Thyme?" So between the wish for more bows and the Dad joke, I just had to get this set. I will say I bent a yellow bow. I'm glad for the spare bow--reduces the brunt from the clumsiness, but I wanted an extra yellow bow just in case. I think it was human error.
Great for 7 year old. My daughter saw this set at a Lego store while on vacation in Chicago. We talked her into waiting and getting a souvenir elsewhere, but didn't end up going to that place and she was sad that she didn't get this. Amazon came through! And at a better price! She built the set quickly (under an hour) and loves it. She was surprised to find that Emma makes bows. Not sure that she looked too closely at it before falling in love, but either way it's great for her and she loves it.
The sewing machine is super cute! The rest is pretty fun and good for the kids, but not for us adults.
This may be an echo from the past but in my opinion that's no bad thing because some of those first Friends sets still count among my favourites. As a pocket money purchase, I think this set has a lot to offer, and I really like it (perhaps because I am interested in textile crafts myself).
While I liked the workshop. I guess I would have liked to see the it as an extension of the design studio.
