Lots of fun with this set. The set came with everything we were expecting. It includes a great instructional booklet that encourages sharpens kids ability to read and follow instructions. That may be my favorite thing about the leg friend kits. My daughter loves to play with them (and owns more sets than I can count). I think it's neat how she has to put hundreds of little pieces together to build something. This is a great and very popular gift for girls.
Oh the Cupcake Mania Galore! ;) LOL I can not tell you how much fun my daughter has been having "baking" cupcakes with me. Giggles! It's Too Cute! And that Oven! How Cool is that! We love the Mixer and the rotating display shelf in the window. The mini coffee brewer was a nice touch too because my daughter enjoys going to the coffee shop with me to get drinks and a muffin. So she mimics what she sees the barista's do there. I have a special needs daughter so it's kinds fun doing these things that add a bit of everyday knowledge to her play Imagination. She even learned what an "awning" was because of the building architecture. These are a TON of FUN to play with and use your imagination with. Coffee House Cupcake Mania Party Galore!
LEGO Friends fans are going to really enjoy playing out imaginative storylines with this very cute and very detailed set. Kids will have fun pretending to run their own bakery and decorating all the pretend cupcakes.
This set seems to attempt to be a hybrid of the 3061 City Park Café and 41006 Downtown Bakery. I like the elements that have been combined. The other sets feel a little cramped for space compared to this one - I like the larger area that affords much more flexibility for play. The build is quite nice and I like that there have been a couple interesting elements added, such as the rotating multi level display in one of the windows.
My nine year old daughter and best friend spent the best part of an hour playing with this set, so that pretty much gives it the tick of approval for playability. I found a number of additional cupcakes that they had made with the spare parts sitting in the fridge. The playing also led to real cupcakes being baked, which you might argue is good or bad for various reasons! The set looks great and has a nice selection of parts, including quite a few parts that are unique to this set. So, a great set overall!
All in all I rate this set as outstanding. [...] For sure this is one of the best Friends sets we've seen so far!
