This is one of those sets that really knocks it out of the park for me. You get two rides which are both very nice (honestly the swing might even be better than the bumper cars for which the set is named). You also get a ticket stand and a nice little cotton candy cart... Even if you don't own any other amusement park sets, this one by itself will give you a nice little park area. The ticket stand can easily be used for the park at large (just remove the bumper cars sign at the top). As with most (?) Friends sets, this one does have some "girly" elements to it - but it's not overdone (and the bright color scheme that Friends is known for works well for amusement park sets anyhow).

Wow, what is there bad to say about lego friends??? I reviewed the other purchase of Lego Friends as well... so if it sounds familiar that is why, we both and they asked for reviews on both, so just copied most of the hot dog van to this one... My granddaughter, 10, wanted the whole amusement park for her birthday...mommy and daddy got the big one and we bought some of the sides...the hot dog van and the bumper cars... this is just flat out adorable! So well packaged!! They even provided little 'extras' of some of the tiny pieces! This is truly girl stuff! She Loved them!!

This is a nice set of the Friends Amusement Park series. My favorite part is the Topspin. I motorized it with the medium motor so it comes alive. I powered the motor with Speed Regulator of the 9V trains and the power converting cable 8871, but if you don't have it I recommend you to use Power Functions components (8883, 8800/8878/8881, 8869 or 8884 and 8879. Otherwise you can get set 8293. When you motorize it I highly recommend to use a baseplate (32x32 or bigger) for a good stability and catch the vibrations. The bumper cars are good. But it their might be a third bumper car included in the set. Now the the bumper cars always have to hit the same one. That might be a bit boring. :) I also like the candyfloss stand. It is nice addiction to the set. 9/10

This construction set has lots of fun detail to allow kids to build and play out a realistic day at the amusement park. From the bumper cars to the shaker ride, these are things that kids have seen and probably ridden at a real amusement park, so being able to build real-working models of those rides is pretty cool. Fans of LEGO Friends will like adding this set to their collections.

As much fun as this set was to build, I wonder why the title is “Amusement Park Bumper Cars", when the main build and play feature (in my mind) is actually the Swing Ride. This is a fun set, and should be considered by any Lego builder who wants to add some great components to their own Lego Amusement Park!
