My daughter loves the Lego Friends collection. She is eight years old and was able to build the set without help. She received this set for Christmas and plays with it every day. So far it is staying together well and she hasn't had to rebuild it.
Any of these construction sets will make wonderful additions to a LEGO Friends fan's collection. Each set on its own has fun features and playability to allow kids to get inside the personality of each character and tell fun stories with each girl and her pet or robot friend, but these small sets will also be a great way to build out a collection and allow girls to tell even more creative stories in Heartlake City or wherever they can imagine.
I had previously given a positive review to Olivia's Creative Lab and suggested that Lego produce more sets like it. So I was really pleased to see this new set which continues the robot theme. My daughter, who is 5, loved this one and built it without adult help. I do find the price steep for what it is but that goes for just about every Lego product. I like the whole bedroom Friends series...the Friends sets seem to be improving as the designers figure out that little girls are into more than just puppies and pink, pink and more pink.
I'm delighted with this set. I love the way Olivia is depicted as an ambitious tinkerer. I'm glad that the mechanical bits in here weren't just for fun – they actually do things. And I can picture myself happily spending time in a room like hers (though I may have to swap out the pink carpet! LOL). But the best part for me is seeing how far the Olivia character has developed since her generic girl's bedroom of 2012. Her transformation is impressive and exciting. I hope young builders today will look at this new “deluxe" room set and feel inspired!
