My niece absolutely loved this adorable vehicle! Immediately upon opening it, she was fast and furious assembling it. She is 10.😀
I am so happy this set includes a calico cat! I have two tortoise-shell calico kitties and was so happy to see Olivia with one in this set. Olivia is my favorite of the Friends characters. I do like that her new look includes glasses (I wear glasses, too), but I am still not used to her changed skin tone as compared to the older Friends sets.
These are both fun sets that LEGO Friends fans will enjoy building and then playing out creative storylines with.
As far as vehicles go, this one is an easy build but does look surprisingly good once finished. Plenty of play value as well as the ability to ferry multiple mini-dolls (or minifigures with a small tweak) makes this a very appealing set for all LEGO fans. Add to that a very reasonable price point and you have got no reason not to pick this one up.
I had visitors to my house after I'd assembled this set and one of the people commented that they'd get this set for their daughter "because it doesn't look like it's for Barbie". In particular, I love the use of the cool yellow in this set. I thought it was a new LEGO colour except a quick search in the database shows that isn't the case, it just hasn't been used that much. I think this is a very underused colour!
When I first heard the title of this set, but hadn't seen pictures, I was excitedly expecting something more ...scientific. A mobile research lab, perhaps? A time-traveling submarine? Instead, I discovered a femininely-colored Ecto-1 with an R2D2-like “droid up top," and a bit of a Partridge Family funky-painted bus. While this was not what I'd expected, I appreciate the playful whimsy and “Friend-ly functionality" of the set. The vehicle is clearly meant to be shared with the other characters and will extend play value for the Friendship House set.
