Go Brick Me

This is an excellent set, and a great value compared to many other LEGO sets. Whether you want a bunch of cheap parts to add to your collection, or you want a fun building experience, you can't go wrong. more less

I haven't had a lot of space or time for Lego in years, but I wanted to scratch the the itch again and I picked this up thinking it would make a great desk toy. I was correct! The concept is simple but very versatile, and you can tweak and rebuild it easily and as often as you want. The instructions cover a wide range of different features and styles to use as examples and starting points, and from what I can see enough pieces are provided to build any of them in each of the skin & hair colours. The results are cute and the process is fun, with the scale imposing enough constraints to make it a creative challenge but allowing enough freedom to build and rebuild indefinitely. If you're looking for an inexpensive gift for a "lapsed" adult Lego fan that they can play with as well as displaying, but that's self-contained and versatile enough that they don't have to drag their whole collection of out of the garage, this is a great choice! Some of the $10-20 small bulk or Creator sets would make a good supplement to it, but the included parts selection is good I very much recommend this set! more less

You should definitely follow the age recommendations for this Lego kit. I bought this Lego building kit for my autistic son's 17th birthday. It looked like a lot of fun and the whole family was looking forward to building brick figures of ourselves. Unfortunately, I found this difficult to do, as the instructions don't allow you to easily build a novel figure from beginning to end. For example, after you build the basic figure and you decide what kind of hair you'd like, you have to remove pieces And then go back to the instruction for hair and add it to the figure. Other than the examples provided in the book, there didn't seem to be a way to easily build a brick head without having to occasionally disassemble and back up. That being said, we have owned several other BrickHeadz sets (Santa, Mrs. Claus, Star Wars) And really loved them. I was just disappointed at how difficult we found the free building aspect of this kit. more less

I am a huge fan of the new Go Brick Me set, and I highly recommend that you pick up one or two for yourself. The instructions for making the various body/cloths options are very easy to alter and expand on using parts from even the smallest collection. And the options for personalizing hair and beards is virtually unlimited. The part count for the price make this set, as well as pretty much any Brickheadz set a great value for the money. more less

This a terrific set that enables your creativity to go wild and I suspect like me you'll jump in and start building yourself, or someone else you know. But, if you don't have a clue where to begin there are literally thousands of instructions provided, one of which is likely to be a good starting point for whoever you want to capture, and once you've built a few you'll have the confidence to tackle just about anybody. more less

I think that LEGO hit it out of the park with Go Brick Me (41597). Usually I don't recommend getting multiples of a set but this one is an exception especially if you want to build multiple characters. What's surprising about it is the price of the set compared to how many parts you get. Although there are a lot of smaller parts, they're all useful in the colors provided so it's not too bad. more less

Go Brick Me is a brilliant set that encourages creativity, and happily, it includes enough new elements to intrigue part enthusiasts. So treat yourself to this set the next time you're out – you deserve a little me time. more less

While we certainly hope LEGO will improve representation, diversity, and inclusion in its non-licensed System themes someday, 41597 Go Brick Me is a fantastic step in the right direction — even if it's with blocky BrickHeadz characters rather than its iconic minifigure. So-called “identity" politics (which I feel is just dismissive code for opposition to diversity and inclusion) aside, Go Brick Me is a genuinely fun set with a massive parts assortment at an unbelievably low cost. We cannot recommend this set highly enough, whether you're adult builders like us, parents, or educators who work with children. And by buying this set, you're also telling LEGO that inclusion and representation matter. If “prestige" sets like 75192 UCS Millennium Falcon give you pause about your life priorities, this is a set that will warm your heart. more less
