This was an amazing set and I had the most fun with this set that I've ever had with anything else. The details were great and and the pull back feature was awesome. I was able to do stunts, races and challenges. If you buy this one, I recommend that you buy the Getaway racer as well to improve the play experience even more. YAY!!!
Absolutely loved by a 10 year old. The technic kit is challenging enough to stretch a regular Lego kid while being achievable too.The pull back and go action is outstanding and really makes this car fly.The car is robust and takes a beating- it doesnt require gentle handing so it stands up to rough car chase. crash type playThe price is great, the kit is great, if you have a Lego kid, this will certainly be one for them to enjoy.I'm not wholly certain that 7 is an age at which the child could complete it without assistance but it seemed more that an 8/9 year old would be at the younger end for not requiring adult assistance. I didnt check it on a 7 year old so I could well be wrong.
It's fun to build and tough enough for play once completed.
I think this is one of the best looking pull-back racers, together with the 42026 Black-Champion-Racer from 2014. The Getaway Racer looks very good too, but it does rely heavily on it's stickers. Lime green adds a kick to this model. Combined with white it provides a great color scheme. The model itself has a very distinctive SUV look, which is properly executed. Negative aspects are hard to find. This is a winner!!
The colors are pretty, but the excess white color gives the impression of boring. Stickers a little break the whites. Car is very nicely finished, there are no sharp edges.
I believe that these racers will appeal to young Technic fans. If you have a couple of youngsters, these two sets will produce endless hours of competitive play. They can easily race across a room 10m (30ft) wide. Couple these models with some simple ramps for jumps and tricks.
