Recommendation: meh 4.7 / 5 from 68 reviews

Yeah, the steering radius is a bit bigger than I'd like, but for the price and the overall experience me and my 5 year old really love it.I wanted something to augment our lego motors to experiment and learn. This is a great kit for that. Has all the basics, including two-gear transmission, but doesn't get TOO complicated for beginners like us.Was also our first Technic set overall and again, a great introduction to it.

This would be a very good set for kids that are interested in LEGO. It looks just like the kart I autocross.

This is a great LEGO Technic set – I really do like it. Both models look nice, the parts included are great with the orange, purple, and transmission elements, playability is quite good with the driving and transmission settings, and the price is great too. I would not hesitate picking this up, even if it was at full price, if you still can.

Besides the rather large turning radius, there are no real downsides to this model. I love the looks and color scheme. It also it contains various unique and rare parts. It even features a working gearbox and working steering wheel. The set comes with printed instructions for the B-model, so it's basically a real 2-in-1 set.

There are many good things about this set. The styling. The engine detailing. A proper gearbox. That seat. The fact that it looks good with or without the stickers. Everything in its rightful place and looking all Go-Karty. It's good value for money. It's a superb looking model. If it steered like 854 it would get a 10. It barely steers at all.
