My son has been asking for this set forever but I couldn't drop this kind of money on a toy until Christmas. I'm so glad I did! While it took him three days to get it put together he is ecstatic and he hasn't stopped driving it around Our house! It's much larger than I thought. The perfect gift for my 11 year old creator!
This is a good build, you'll be getting tired when you get to the 4 cylinder engine. For the money Lego wants for this thing I would expect LED lighting, at least 6 motors and completely remote control with a fully independent suspension with shocks. I just played with mine for 5 minutes, setting the out riggers and my brand new Energizer batteries are dead! The truck has good speed but no torque to climb small obstacles . If the rear out riggers hit the ground before the front outriggers it causes the Lego cylinder at the rear to pop apart. I think the truck looks rather Awesome.
After building the set and spending some time playing with it I can only come to the conclusion that I really like it. I am even thinking about modding this set and that is something I seldomly do. This set reminds me of the 42039, where I felt like the president of a fan club with very few members. Sometimes a set just works for me and this is such a set. And that's not because it's the best set right out of the box, but it has potential to have a lot of fun with it. Some sets are perfect, but you will hardly touch them after building. The real question is whether people will be forking out such an amount of money for a non-licensed set.

In summary, then, it's a nice looking (albeit probably fictional) vehicle but it lacks features you would expect in a flagship model. The price is astronomical and I think most people would find it hard to justify spending such a sum on a set such as this, particularly this year when there are so many strong sets in other themes competing for our money.
