My son, 10, is a fan of action figures and Legos. The Hero Factory line is simply a combination of both. The figures stand between maybe 6-8" depending on how you actuate their joints, by way of comparison, they are similar in size to Transformers. They come in the bag in pieces, but getting them together is never much trouble. As they are lego you can of course combine them (or parts of them) with other Hero Factory figures and your child can create their very own unique figures with almost unlimited possibilities. As with anything Lego, these always seem to command a premium price, especially at a retail store. Watching Amazon is usually the best way to get the best price, unless you luck out and find them on clearance somewhere or someone clearing out their kids old toys they have outgrown!
Frost Beast doesn't stand out as having the most exciting design or most useful pieces of this wave, but he is by all means an excellent set, and a very solid entry as an ice themed monster. If you're looking for more trans-pieces, consider Frost Beast as a very good option, but otherwise you'll probably find the winter wave of monster sets more appealing for useful bones and weapon pieces.
I recommend him. He's not as awesome as Stormer, but he's certainly a set that's worth the money.
A lot of the cons above stem from my unfortunate lack of excitement towards this set, rather than gaping flaws. It feels like many other Hero Factory sets did and do. At the end of the day, Frost Beast is a mediocre set, less valuable than his component parts. But, of course, some of those component parts are just lovely.
