Recommendation: no 4 / 5 by Chad Collins

The set has 221 pieces and retails for $19.99, which is the same price as the other two trucks in the wave. This set has a great $0.09/piece ratio. Along with the Cement Mixer, you also get two minifigures as well as a wheelbarrow and 18 gray studs that act as cement.

This is a fun kit, and much loved by our 3-year-olds. The concept of the "wet cement" being represented by little grey Lego pieces is great, and they actually "flow" out of the drum quite nicely when it's turned (though they do tend to bounce right out of the included wheelbarrow). The adjustable chute works nicely, too. The only reason this doesn't get five stars is because it is pretty fragile for play. We've glued some of the more susceptible connections, which helps, but it still requires a lot of repairs. Of course, we are talking about 3-year-olds playing with it!

Of the 2013 sets I've built so far, this has been my favourite, and proves that LEGO does not need licenses or fancy IPs to be able to create superb sets.
