This set has a lot of playability ranging from the Batmobile, to the bank and everything in between. The vehicles are nice especially the Batmobile as well as the minifigures. The overall price to piece ratio was great considering that licensed sets usually cost a little more. Another bonus is that you get the new orange brick separator. This is a great set to pick up especially for younger kids.

This is a decent set. If it was year three or four of Batman, I'd probably knock it down a rank or two, but for February 2012, this is a solid set to buy. But, it's a set that isn't really applicable to MOCs or expanded builds, so it seems to be suited to Bat-Fans.

This set was purchased for my 5-year-old Batman and LEGO enthusiast who is beyond thrilled to not only get a black-suited Batman (a lot of the LEGO Batmen have the blue and grey suits), but loves Two Face and loves that the Two Face minifigure comes with a coin and two-color goons and a two-color truck. The Batmobile looks pretty cool to this mom and seems pretty sturdy--it has yet to break after many rescue missions around the house. My 7-year-old built the set unaided and reports that the instructions were clear and easy to follow. Also, this set come with one of those fantastic orange brick separator tools. Fantastic all around!

There's a long legacy of superior Batmobile designs that this set is going up against: Nolan's Tumbler, Batman: The Animated Series' art deco inspired version (my personal all time favorite), Burton's Batmobile, just to name a few. And I think the bad flak the set has gotten based on the pictures is because of a case of tunnel vision: people are focusing on just the Batmobile and the price and immediately write it off. And admittedly, it's not that great of a design. But if you can look at the set as a whole, with Two-Face's truck and the small Bank building, there's lots of playability right out of the box.
