So this is the second Legends of Chima set I've got my hands on, while I had some reservations about the price of 70001 I've not got those concerned here. Lego have given us excellent figures and a model that I just love, while it is more than I'd like to pay when I sat back and looked at it I decided it was worth it. I feel that the ground vehicles aren't shaping up as well as the air ones as I want to get my hands on 70000 but I'm not so sure about the rest of the series. My advice would be that if you're interested to take the plunge with this set you won't be disappointed.
This set is totally amazing and the built is pretty simple and easy to follow. The experience is very engaging and it is fun to play with, even with the set on its own. It does not require other forms of integrations with other sets in order to bring out the playability. Instead, the features in this set allow a wide range of playability such as swooshing, posing and illustrating an aerial battle scene between the good and the bad.
My kids love Legos. They never cease to amaze me at the things they come up with. I just happened to come across this before Christmas - it was an Amazon special and I am so glad I purchased it because a) it ended up being a really great deal and b) of course, my 10 year old son loves it. He really likes the Chima series and this eagle looks so cool put together. Legos are so expensive and it was nice to know my money was not wasted on this set at all.
This is an excellent set and, as suspected having examined the hi-res pictures we now have of the Chima sets, one of the best of the first batch. I can exclusively reveal that this set was designed by none other than Mark Stafford, which goes some way to explain why it's so cool.
