I helped my 5 year old son get the loose parts built, then left him with the instructions and remaining pieces. Aside from one piece in the wrong spot, he did amazingly well. After getting everything built, we attached everything to an extra base plate we had kicking around. Afterwards, I dug around in his LEGO box, and built a mini-base for Kai, using a mish-mash of parts (none of which was Ninjago), but was a great addition. We also grabbed some extra lightsaber handles, and attached the wooden poles for practice fights. He's had it for 2 days, and hasn't put it down. Best $15 I've spent all year.

It's from the new Ninjago movie and came with 4 silver swords, Kai and Zane. The mask is a new form and comes in two parts instead of older ones that is only one piece. Which my son is super excited about. :) it was about $10 and comes with two munifigures. We love the new additions to our Ninjago set!

Spinjitzu Training is not really a stand alone set, but it gives you some fun little builds to incorporate into your own projects and/or play. You get a really good value per brick, and a great brick-to-Minifigure ratio. The Minifigures are also nicely designed, and comes with a number of accessories. The only real drawback to this set is that you don't get a lot of build time for the price. This is not a bad buy if you are into Ninjago.

Usually the smallest set of a certain wave isn't too spectacular but The LEGO Ninjago Movie Spinjitzu Training Dojo (70606) is not too bad of a set. You get two of the ninjas along with a variety of little builds. I didn't expect too much and for $9.99, I would say this set is worth it especially since this is the cheapest way to get Kai and Zane in these outfits.

If you can't justify collecting The LEGO NINJAGO Movie theme, then at least buy this set to get two of the exquisitely detailed minifigures and a bunch of bricks for under £10. For LEGO NINJAGO fans, this set is an easy purchase.

So… not a bad set by any means thanks to the figures, but not a horribly exciting one either. The builds aren't anything amazing (and feel scattered rather than cohesive), and if you have the 70618 Destiny's Bounty, there is pretty much no reason at all to buy this as a very similar dojo (and the exact same minifigures).

Smaller sets consistently rank amongst my favorites of any particular theme and this is no exception. I like the building techniques used, and a useful selection of pieces are provided. And indeed, the model on its own is nostalgic, detailed for its size, and practically begging for expansion.
