Master Falls

This is the only thing my 10 year old grandson wanted for Christmas. After he put it together in 15 minutes, I figured it was a failed gift. But he has played with it non stop. He says it's exactly like the movie..and he especially loves the characters included in the set. It was a great purchase at a great price!! more less

Master Falls did not let me down in terms of awesome sets that have come out of the Ninjago Movie. This has been an amazing theme, and I am sad to see it going into retirement. I can only hope that the regular Ninjago theme will continue to deliver equally awesome sets. Master Falls is a good value set, lots of fun, and it comes with great Minifigures. I recommend picking it up while you still can. more less

Even with the limited playability, the set does still make an excellent landscape piece. I do like how the bridge is created and a the design of the archway. I think that these features could be used for other themes as well. Even if you don't collect Ninjago, there is a good number of fairly rare parts in this set. more less

This set is one of my 8-year-old son's favorite sets. It has a swinging, wobbly bridge and under the bridge, there's some tiny monkey bars that the characters can hang on while dueling. I think it accurately depicts the scene from the NINJAGO movie. My son was able to play out the part where Garmadon pushes Master Wu into the rushing river below. For a price of around 25-30 dollars, this set offers lots of cute details and play value. The torches and creepy scorpions are a good addition. It would have been better if there were stairs or at least a rocky slope leading up to the bridge. Then the minifigures wouldn't have "jump" up the mountain. This set includes Master Wu, Kai, and Garmadon. My son's favorite ninja is Kai, so he was really happy to see him in this set. Since Kai has the elemental power of fire, my son also wants to have a power that can shoot fire. As for the cage made out of bamboo, it actually looks pretty much like bamboo. I would recommend this for a friend or a birthday present for someone. more less

I like this set. The build is very beautiful and truly looks like a natural enviroment. However, I never thought I'd say this, but the lack of action features (at a set of this price) makes the set a little boring. One action feature wouldn't hurt. more less

Master Falls is dull on its own. Bridges are landmarks that adventurers cross on the way to an objective, they are never the objective themselves. Aside from being a cool place for an interim fight, they have no real place on their own. Considering one can get Nya's awesome 70611 Water Strider for the same amount in the US and only a little more in the UK, this set doesn't even stand out at its price point. The best thing that 70608 has going for it is that it is currently the cheapest set to include both Lord Garmadon and Sensei Wu. However, both of those are available as Collectible Minifigures soon so even that advantage is mitigated. more less

All finished, this is a handsome set. Though there wasn't anything exciting about the build, it was satisfying and most of the flaws are easily overlooked. Considering the other sets in the theme, this one seems a bit underwhelming. more less

I had high expectations for this set and am definitely satisfied with the results. The minifigure selection is excellent but it is the bridge structure which stands out as the highlight. It is highly detailed and makes use of some interesting building techniques so would be worthy of display in my opinion, particularly alongside 70617 Temple of the Ultimate Ultimate Weapon which is situated nearby if the map is to be believed. more less
