Its was fun building it. The color scheme is amazing!!! The gear can move both arms, but there is one problem with this set for me, the gears sometimes get stuck when moving the arms. I really love how the hammer can turn into claws for digging. Its a great set for kids and any bionicle lovers out there who don't have it.
Bionicle figures, like Onua, let kids build their own action figures and then imagine battles between the figure and skull spider. Since they are highly poseable, they also look great in displays.
Onua was an impluse buy off Amazon because they came back in stock for the normal $19.99 (do not pay more than that! Avoid scalpers) and all of my local stores have been sold out of him. He's gone from being my least favorite of the new redesigned group, to really growing on me.He is the widest of the bunch with his large shoulders, and is another figure with the duel action arm motion. Just like his first version. I just wish he had the claw hands like before. But there's a plus, his hammer can come apart (and store on his back) and function as shovels in both hands. That's a plus. The black, purple, and gold are also really nice.Onua has the highest piece count out of the 6, and will take you anywhere from 10-15 minutes to put together.
Onua is a decent figure. At 108 pieces, he is the best parts value of the three larger Toa. You get some nice new parts and recolors, including the fantastic dark purple bones, the large chest plate in black, and four of the new silver claws. He's packed with features, although the overall look of the set is up to you to form an opinion on. personally I like this new bulky look for Onua. I think that he is a decently bulky set, and for what you get, it's not a horrible deal for $20. Of the three larger Toa, I find that I would recommend him the least, but considering I would highly recommend all three, that's not a bad thing.
70789 is a solid set in more ways than just its burliness. Packing lots of valuable elements, elegant play features, and a heckuva lot of character, the new Onua doesn't only satisfy me as a Constraction set; he meets - and, in some ways, even exceeds - my high hopes about BIONICLE's return. 70789 manages to honor its roots aesthetically and functionally at the same time as it presents a fresh, attractive product; Onua's fulfillment of this dichotomy impresses and pleases me.
I cannot overstate how gargantuan Onua is. His shoulders alone are like the width of two Toa. He's a solid, sturdy powerhouse and sure to be a welcome addition to any group of heroes. Maybe if you know any surgeons or robots you could get them to put the stickers on for you, otherwise the new Onua is just an all around stellar set.
Onua is the best set of the winter wave, claws down. Perhaps incidentally or not, he's also one that diverges the most from his original design, and yet somehow still embodies the character perfectly; this is the Onua you never knew you loved. If you're looking for that "titan" building experience, like Axonn from the previous generation, Onua will hit your fix. If you're looking for a durable, playable figure, Onua's your guy.
