This small set brings to life a scene from the film in which the main character travels to LEGO's Wild West world. And with the "Piece of Resistance" attached to his back, kids can imagine that Emmett must use his "Master Builder" skills to create a glider getaway to escape Lord Business' robotic goons.
Excellent Minifigures, a lovely little glider and a great price make this a superb set as a whole!
There are so many different ones of these Lego projects! I give them 5 stars if our grandson can look at the instructions and put them together with no problems. I count off the rating if he has problems getting pieces to fit together or the instructions are not clear, etc. As I cant actually GRADE these, because I dont know which ones are the best or not . . . hahaha so when he is pleased... i am pleased!!! hahaha (he is 8, if that helps)
The glider itself is ok and all the small parts on it makes the actual piece count bloated. The downside of the set is that it could've been a cheaper set considering the number of parts you get.
This set is the same price as 70801 Melting Room, in the same line, with one of the same figures, yet is so much less. Yes, you get a horse, and yes, you get a couple of nice robot cowboys. But for the parts, it's nowhere near the value at that same price.
Terrific minifigures and a terrific small parts selection for a low price. Need I say more? If you like western at all, go buy this set! It's that simple.
I was getting constantly annoyed with the various parts breaking off while trying to take photos of this set. For anyone actually trying to play with it, it must be even more annoying. I think the minifigures are the only really interesting part of this set.
It's only a little set, but it's an interesting, fairly complex build. The glider is a cool little flying machine, and I like it. It's not quite symmetrical, giving an interesting patchwork look.
I like the concept of this set and think the glider is really nice and well-done. But I can't really recommend it at $12.99 - maybe if they got rid of Deputron and/or the cactus and made it $9.99 it would have worked better. I think if you're shopping at this price point you might be better off with 70801 Melting Room which not only features Emmet, but also Wyldstyle, and more pieces too.
