Saw the movie with our grandson so we needed something to remember the great time we had with him. We were making memories. This was a cute and inexpensive way to do that.
This entire series is an outstanding release with minor rant such as the repeated inclusion of Unikitty design. Overall, I would said this is quite a remarkable release including fulfilling the distribution ratio with 3 complete sets in a sealed box. This alone, is a huge winner to ensure the distribution spread is done appropriately. Furthermore, I also noted with the minifigure neck marking increased the tightness and grip of the head and neck. This is actually great for CMFs which was previously lacking.
I love all the lego 2 minifigures. I was targeting the wizard of Oz figures as I am a big fan; unfortunately, I only got Dorothy and Scarecrow. This was a random pick up of 14 and I only got one duplicate. All 13 were totally different minifigures. I am hoping to get lion and tinman next order and the rest of the LEGO 2 minifigures. Overall, no regrets and satisfied.
Overall The LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures (71023) series is a pretty interesting one with a number of characters that you wouldn't really expect to see in one of the sets. My favorite one is probably the Giraffe guy as well as the Wizard of Oz crew which are some popular ones among fans. There are also some questionable inclusions such as Emmet and Unikitty. Do we really need another of their variants even though they have been heavily featured in the sets and Unikitty in her series from last year?
Emmet has appeared nearly 20 times already in other sets, so chances are you've already got one or two versions laying about. Remix Emmet doesn't offer a whole that's remarkable, with a torso and legs that are identical to those of earlier figures. The coffee cup has only appeared once before in plain white with no printing, back in 2015 in the Simpson's Kwik-E-Mart.
I found a few surprises looking through the set, especially with the UV: Bright Green seems to be particularly Bright. I wonder how other elements in this colour look?. Orange is inconsistent: some versions of Bright Orange Fluoresce, others do not. Likewise red: I have some fuselage elements joined together at home: some fluoresce, others don't! Some ‘Bright' colours don't seem to glow at all. Overall, it's a pretty diverse collection!
Emmet's head is decorated with two facial expressions, both of which appear extremely cheerful. His orange construction uniform is almost identical to that from the original film, distinguished only by a few scratches across the metallic silver reflective strips. I think it looks great and the identity card printed on Emmet's legs is a lovely detail.
