These came in the Lego Movie 2 Minifigure series. Wife loves Wizard of Oz, so these were cute to give our daughter so she could play them with her mom. Pricier than buying a random pack, but you might have to buy a ton to get the one you want, so potentially worth it to do it this way if you just want the Oz ones or are worried about doubles.
This entire series is an outstanding release with minor rant such as the repeated inclusion of Unikitty design. Overall, I would said this is quite a remarkable release including fulfilling the distribution ratio with 3 complete sets in a sealed box. This alone, is a huge winner to ensure the distribution spread is done appropriately. Furthermore, I also noted with the minifigure neck marking increased the tightness and grip of the head and neck. This is actually great for CMFs which was previously lacking.
Overall The LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures (71023) series is a pretty interesting one with a number of characters that you wouldn't really expect to see in one of the sets. My favorite one is probably the Giraffe guy as well as the Wizard of Oz crew which are some popular ones among fans. There are also some questionable inclusions such as Emmet and Unikitty. Do we really need another of their variants even though they have been heavily featured in the sets and Unikitty in her series from last year?
The final member of the Oz crew is the Tin Man. He's done up all in flat silver except for the hands, which are dark grey. Although it's not particularly noticeable, I do wish LEGO would produce silver hands, a color that is annoying still missing from the lineup. The Tin Man wears a silver bowtie, which is of course a new color for that element, and he's topped with a funnel as a cap. The funnel is a new element which sits at a jaunty angle. Both the funnel's tip and the handle have plume-sized holes.
I found a few surprises looking through the set, especially with the UV: Bright Green seems to be particularly Bright. I wonder how other elements in this colour look?. Orange is inconsistent: some versions of Bright Orange Fluoresce, others do not. Likewise red: I have some fuselage elements joined together at home: some fluoresce, others don't! Some ‘Bright' colours don't seem to glow at all. Overall, it's a pretty diverse collection!
This minifigure is among my favourites in the entire series and corresponds exactly with the onscreen character, consisting almost entirely of pearl silver parts with a lovely metallic finish. This technique is unusual but it works well here, especially on the torso where a few areas are not covered by the metallic silver printing, giving the impression of subtle scratches.
