This entire series is an outstanding release with minor rant such as the repeated inclusion of Unikitty design. Overall, I would said this is quite a remarkable release including fulfilling the distribution ratio with 3 complete sets in a sealed box. This alone, is a huge winner to ensure the distribution spread is done appropriately. Furthermore, I also noted with the minifigure neck marking increased the tightness and grip of the head and neck. This is actually great for CMFs which was previously lacking.
I love watching the Lego movies and playing with Legos. Especially when it comes to playing with my nephews and niece. Legos are so fun because they're more than just toys, they're like puzzles, collectibles and action figures all rolled into one! This minifigure is a collectible from the 2nd Lego movie. She's the real Lucy from her old singing days when her band created the "Everything is Awesome" theme song! The golden record label is the most collectible part and we're definitely putting it up on a Lego house wall! :)
Overall The LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures (71023) series is a pretty interesting one with a number of characters that you wouldn't really expect to see in one of the sets. My favorite one is probably the Giraffe guy as well as the Wizard of Oz crew which are some popular ones among fans. There are also some questionable inclusions such as Emmet and Unikitty. Do we really need another of their variants even though they have been heavily featured in the sets and Unikitty in her series from last year?
This character's name gives us our only pre-movie hint to how the Popular Band fits into the movie. It seems like Emmet and Vitruvius may not have been far off when they asked if Wyldstyle was a DJ, as she's got a gold record album in her past, and of Bricksburg's most famous pop tune Everything Is Awesome, no less. With a blue torso, magenta hips and boots, and a bare sleeve on one arm, it's certainly apparent where Lucy came up with her alter ego's name.
I found a few surprises looking through the set, especially with the UV: Bright Green seems to be particularly Bright. I wonder how other elements in this colour look?. Orange is inconsistent: some versions of Bright Orange Fluoresce, others do not. Likewise red: I have some fuselage elements joined together at home: some fluoresce, others don't! Some ‘Bright' colours don't seem to glow at all. Overall, it's a pretty diverse collection!
Flashback Lucy suggests that the character was once a pop star who dressed in bright colours and actually created Everything is Awesome, a song that later represents everything that she dislikes about Bricksburg! This minifigure therefore features a singing face along with a smile on its double-sided head.
