Excellent set, about as much detail as possible at minifig scale. The only small improvement I made was to put some pieces in the spots next to the drivers seat bottom that were exposed. I know that is such a little complaint, but why didn't the put a couple 2x1 or 4x1 in there to cover that up? You can't see the extra pieces I used from the sides at all, only the bottom. I bought this along with the LEGO SPEED CHAMPIONS: FORD F-150 Raptor & FORD Model A Hot Rod 75875. I replaced the hot rod with this Mustang(fits better backed on to trailer) and it looks great. The Mustang is too low so it can't truly drive on to the trailer but it's good enough for me and looks awesome with the Raptor pulling the Mustang. One more small change I made was to take the rubber bands off the raptor so it looks more like the real raptor (looks way too tall with bands). Then I slightly modified the trailer hitch so it was even with the lower back bumper.
Not a big fan of the headlight stickers (Or the stickers in general), but I can't see how else that could've been done. Maybe it would better with by splitting the brick into one blue curve, and one clear curve, but the blue would look a little incomplete in the front. The rear of the car is a fantastic recreation however, as well as the car's side profile. It's a very sturdy build, so I'd imagine it can withstand very heavy play. I'd be worried about losing stickers however.
If you like cars, this is a satisfying build, but I suspect you will find the same from any of the current Speed Champions line. Just get some reading glasses to help you line up the stickers!
For motor-racing and Ford fans, the LEGO Ford Mustang GT is a must-buy simply because of this marks the debut of American muscle cars into Speed Champions and the very fact that as a model, it's instantly recognisable. At AU$23 and US$15, it's also great value for a set that can instantly find a place on an adult collector's display shelf.
I think I quite like this set on the whole. The build, despite a couple of inaccuracies, is good, and the minifigure included is decent. Playability is good and I don't have a problem with the price at all.
Overall, this car is instantly recognizable as a Mustang. It features solid construction for rugged durability: a must for a car that makes you want to play. All the Speed Champions cars are begging to be raced around your desk no matter your age, and the Mustang is no exception. Aside from LEGO's heavy reliance on stickers (only the minifig parts are printed), this is a great model, and a great value.
I had mixed feelings on the first wave of Speed Champions sets but this one is off to an excellent start. The Ford Mustang GT is a well known car and I think this model replicates its design quite well on the whole. The headlights are not perfect and I would have preferred to see the driver seated towards the left, but those are minor issues and I certainly recommend this set.
