All About the Bricks

Recommendation: yes 5 / 5 by Brick

This huge book has pictures of almost every LEGO minifig released between 1978 and 2013. That's a lot of minifigures! It also includes ACTUAL minifigures; Townsperson, Stormtrooper, and Robber!

Recommendation: meh 4.5 / 5 by Allen "Tormentalous" Tran

LEGO Minifigure Year By Year: A Visual History is got to be one of the best LEGO books I own, and I own quite a few. The amount of small details that is in the book about the minifigures is phenomenal.

I can't recommend this book enough. I've only had it a short while, but I know that I'll be going back to it over and over, mining it for inspiration. Even my kindergarten-age son loves it, leafing through the pages with a constant stream of questions. If you are a fan, do yourself a favor and pick one up!

I've really enjoyed it so far. There's well over two hundred pages and while I skimmed through the whole thing, I'm still only in the 80s when it comes to reading it cover-to-cover. I would definitely recommend it to any fan of the classic LEGO System, especially for those who like to collect minifigures or build their own custom ones.

Overall, I was rather impressed with it. As a long-time fan of LEGO, there wasn't much information I didn't already know, but it is a fun book to have around. If you are looking for a good introduction into the history of minifigs in general, a fun coffee table book to impress your non-LEGO friends or a book for your kids to drool over for hours, this is the book for you.
