I have a tiny shelf in which I build a small seasonal set and keep there throughout the holiday. This set is perfect for that space. I leave it open and set the cauldron off to one side and the rat and pumpkin off to the other. My son plays with this set every morning before heading off to school and pretends to cook up strange potions for the skeleton to drink. My personal favorite part is that the Jack "O" Lantern can also be worn as a mask! Totally cool!
I'm so glad we bought this set! The skeleton, the pumpkin/jack-o'-lantern and rat along with the cauldron made it worthwhile. (Priced individually would have been more expensive so get the set and have more fun).We made this set up with our son who had a blast swapping out the skeletons head for the pumpkin or just adding the jack-o'-lantern over the existing head and look forward to making it over and over again in the near future.
The LEGO Seasonal Halloween Haunt (40260) is actually a better set than I expected. The best build here is obviously the gate and the castle silhouette technique. I also like that LEGO threw in the Fabuland cooking pot. Furthermore, the pre-vampire minifigure is a nice addition. I'm not sure if this is a nod to LEGO Monster Fighters or just a coinicence. The only thing that seems totally random in the set is the round corner plate used for the grass.
I love this delightful little set. The scene is detailed, and what really sells me on this set is the building technique used to show perspective that we've not seen before.
