The Off-Roader is a fun model which is fairly easy to build. The suspension is simple, yet very effective. The model could do better in the design department, but the suspension offers great playability and that is what this set is all about. The orange parts are not very common so they are an added bonus. All things considered this set is definitely worth the few bucks you need to spend on it.

This is a tiny set, and so only takes around 10 mins to build. However, for such a small set they did well to give it a kind of Dune-Buggy feel. The independent four wheel suspension (i.e. rubber bands) actually work great and make this mini truck quite playable as it will roll over nearly anything. Having said that, it didn't take my kids long before this truck was forgotten and they remembered what Monster Trucks did best.

The Elves were really happy with their first adventure in Technic building and especially the solid playability of the finished product. The first body looks good on its bouncy chassis too. At £7.99 for 100 pieces the set isn't bad value for money and is a cheap, fun introduction to Technic building techniques for young builders. If you're an AFOL you could add this set to your next amazon order for a “proper" Technic kit: go on, have some fun!
