Series 20 is a return to form for the Collectible Minifigure Series, with many a minifigure offering broad appeal, genuine novelty and fun design. The LEGO Group continues to veer into derivative territory, but not at the expense of the overall collection available here, nor to the detriment of the particular minifigures clearly inspired by material elsewhere. A strong series with little else to criticise, this will be a classic in future years.
This textured hair piece returns from Soldier: 76 in the Overwatch range, albeit now in medium nougat which looks wonderful. The head only features one expression but it does look nice, displaying an enormous smile! Presumably the Anniversary Brick Suit Guy is delighted to have been chosen for celebrating the tenth year of Collectable Minifigures.
Overall, the Series 20 LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71027) is a mixed bag of characters that may not suit everyone.
At $4.99 a pop, it's hard to get too excited about any of them. It's one thing to swallow the higher price for a solo figure when they're licensed Disney or Harry Potter characters, but paying $5 per figure for a blind pack of an unlicensed minifigure seems excessive (many of which have only a single accessory). Even if you get no duplicates (which will mean feeling the bags or splitting a case with a few friends) you'll need to shill out $80 to get the full set. My recommendation? Wait until these inevitably go on clearance.
