I saw this and the Millennium Falcon at Toys-R-Us and was on the fence. The price was slightly cheaper on Amazon when I checked the next day so I pulled the trigger. When they came in I was having a rough day at work so I took a 15 minute break and put one together. Getting back in touch with the fun of LEGOs and using that small amount of time to actually make something was a great stress reliever. Now they both have a spot right under one of my monitors and make me smile when I look at them.
Overall, the TIE Interceptor (75031) is one of the cooler Microfighters, in my opinion. The design is fairly accurate and has some decent playability.
I don't regret my purchase of this set, if only because now my X-Wing has someone to fight. While 92 pieces for $10 may not seem like a great value, the inverted tiles are still pretty rare and make up for the lower piece count in my mind. I think the design of the set could be a bit better, and the TIE Pilot needs some help. If you're looking to pick up just one Microfighter, you can skip this and go for the X-Wing instead.
