This set is based on The Chamber of Secrets and what an amazing set it is! After getting the Parisian Restaurant I decided I was only going to get modular buildings, not only because you get a much better deal with the piece count but also because the build is so much fun and they just look great, but this set....wao.... I'm not even going to say much, I'll leave the pictures so you can see for it yourself. Fantastic minifigure selection, awesome set both for play and display, also, the car looks amazing (This is coming from someone who's not into cars at all).
Before this product came out My daughter hadfinished reading the Harry Potter series for the seventh time and was so excited when this came out as it's details are “very precise and intricate!"Fellow parents at her school own the set too and none of their sets (like mine)were incomplete. To conclude, this set is suitable for all ages;it is perfect for playing with however gorgeous art work to look at!It is perfect for Christmas and s certain bargain as it is a sturdy set.

You should go into a purchase of 75953 Hogwarts Whomping Willow with your eyes wide open as to what will almost certainly happen – you will end up purchasing 75954 Hogwarts Great Hall to go with it. These products were designed to go together and while they can both exist independently and still be satisfying, they are better together. This is not a bad thing as both sets are excellent and worthy of being in your collection. While this set may be improved by being paired with the larger Hogwarts model, it still works well in its own regard, providing enough of Hogwarts to have something to fiddle with as well as two other key icons from the early Harry Potter stories.
While the set looks good as a whole, and is fun to play with, there is a design flaw that I think need to be addressed. In my set at least, the Whomping Willow doesn't really support the weight of the car. The Mixel ball joints are just too weak for those arms. It can support the vehicle if it's not moved at all, but as soon as it's spun, it falls out. As a play set, it's a little disappointing to have this design. At face value though, it's great. I still believe that it would have been better served putting more focus into the tree, rather than the castle, to make it just a bit more impressive, but it's a good way to get more of a Hogwarts Castle if you're willing to shell out some cash for the other sets. The castle is big, and the tree is recognisable and will be easily spotted in a display. It's not going to be possible to get the right scale of the tree to match the car, but it was a good attempt.
The new Wizarding World theme continues to impress! I love the Flying Ford Anglia in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and am very satisfied with this model of the famous car. The Whomping Willow looks wonderful too and its rotating function is enjoyable, although a couple more branches would have been welcome and its reliance upon stickers across the tree trunk may bother some LEGO fans.
Overall the LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Whomping Willow (75953) is a pretty fun set. I'm mostly impressed with the Ford Anglia and the Whomping Willow. Some fans may be deterred from the stickers on the trunk but they also look good without them.
$70 gets you a lot in this set; 753 pieces that turn into a variety of different builds and 6 minifigures. It's a set that keeps changing as you build, with a variety of different techniques used and an overall decent set when it's all said and done. I feel like the castle section makes more sense if you have the Great Hall, but is a fun little stage on it's own. It's just a place to display your figures, there isn't much play value to the structure if that is something you care about, though at the same time it's not a super-accurate depiction of Hogwarts and so display wise it loses a few points too. it certainly makes for an impressively sized display, however, and in my opinion looks better than what we've gotten in the past.
