Keeps the age appropriate child engaged and their imagination flowing. Fun toy!
This set has a lot of cool details and moving pieces to really help kids play out action-packed scenes from Avengers: Age of Ultron or imagine their own storylines. The Super Jumper piece is a fun new addition that brings even more action to the building play.
When I saw this set on Brickipedia last year, I thought it looked flimsy and breakable. I decided to buy the whole collection and this one came too. Its not a bad set. It looks kind of unstable, but its actually very playable and not a bad build. But, this set only has 405 pieces and its $50. I usually only buy sets that are good deals like the Avengers Hydra Showdown (it has 220 pieces and its $20). But you can't judge a LEGO just by looking at its pieces. First, this set has many features. it comes with a super jumper which is basically a piece of plastic that your mini figures get stuck to. Anyway, if you get the thing to actually make your figure jump, than it can hit the gun on the fortress and it knocks it over. On the inside of the fortress, you get a little holding cell for Loki's staff. That also has a little thingy that if you knock it over, the glass collapses. These are fun to play with your fingers, but the super jumpers don't make the magic happen. Its a very cool little fortress and its pretty tall. The gates explode and there is a cool design on the tree. The truck is nice and the cannon is cool. You can fit one mini figure in it. If you bash the front of the truck, the cannon pops off and reveals the mini figure. Overall, pretty nice little vehicle. You get the Hydra sticker on it too. This set includes five mini figures which is pretty nice. You get Quicksilver, Baron Von Strucker, Hulk, and Captain America with the not so super jumper. All the mini figures are pretty nice and their designs are cool. The build is ok, it comes with 4 packs, but I really wouldn't call the 4th one a pack; it has the tree and the gates. Overall, its a pretty nice set it is definitely better than it looks. I would recommend this to any marvel super heroes fan who also likes LEGOs.
My initial thoughts on The Hydra Fortress Smash (76041) is that it is pretty mediocre. The fortress should actually be named a tower since that's pretty much what it is. I actually like the Hydra tank more than the fortress mainly because of the looks and the features it has. The main draw of the set are the minifigures as Quicksilver and Baron von Strucker are unique to this set.
76041 The Hydra Fortress Smash was reviewed in issue 7 of Blocks Magazine.
Ultimately, this set is about adding a new villain to our lineup, Baron Strucker, and getting us Quicksilver. The rest of the set is fairly forgettable, and the price tag simply isn't worth it.
The minifigure selection is great, but once more I think other sets include better figures, especially if you already have the Hulk from 76031 The Hulk Buster Smash. On sale this is a pretty good set, but at full price there are better models available.
